End Human Trafficking
21 signatures so far! [view all signatures]
Petition created by: Jenn

The trafficking of humans is tied as the second most profitable industry in the world with more than 27 million victims. This problem cuts across international boarders and exists in nearly every country. Victims are manipulated into travelling to other countries in order to work for numerous trades ranging from the sex ring to domestic labor.

In America, common knowledge indicates that slavery ended after the Civil War, but a sad reality is that more than 200,000 individuals are now enslaved in the US, and this number is rapidly growing.

The proper training is not given to those most likely to encounter trafficked victims including hospitals and postal workers. This has to stop.

This is a message to President George W. Bush that slavery is not acceptable in the United States. We need tough, concrete legislation not only to put an end to the trade within our boarders, but pleas to the international community to harden their stance on trafficking.

21 have signed so far - help us get to 500.

We have achieved 4.2% of our goal. Let's keep going!
